Now I’ve had many a good Aultmore, but never anything as tasty as this Hogshead Aultmore 14! Hogshead Imports has done it again with this amazing bottling, they’ve selected an amazing and unique spirit and share it with whisky lovers for an affordable price.
This particalur Hogshead Aultmore 14 is a little bit extra special for another reason aside from it’s amazing taste though. It’s one of the first two official Hogshead Community bottlings! Alongside the amazing Hogshead Mortlach 9 I tasted yesterday, these two bottlings provide an excellent reason to become a Hogshead community member yourself!

Tasting Notes: Hogshead Aultmore 14
Stats:
Distillery: Aultmore
Age: 14 years old
Bottled by: Hogshead Imports
ABV: 57,7 %
Chill-Filtered: No
Natural Colour: Yes
Nose:
Eating forest fruit in front of a smouldering campfire. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t get much peat in this dram, it’s more of a heavy char I’m getting. Paired with maraschino cherries, blackberries, dates and figs. A stunning nose!
Palate:
There’s still a bit of charred wood here, but mostly it’s dark dried fruits. Copious amounts of dried figs, dates and raisins. Paired with fresh strawberries, blackberries and heaps of manuka honey and dark caramel. With some coffee and cacao notes to boot!
Finish:
The finish is long but mellow. All the flavours from the palate seem to remain forever, without hitting you int the face with them. My favourite dram thus far, though number 3 is still a close second!
